Lieutenant Bacon is a believable hero and the author introduces realistic conflict and plausible supporting characters. The time-travel scenario is a fun new twist--but the well-researched history really makes this story great. I'm looking forward to future adventures of the Janus and crew. They'll be atop my reading list the next time I hit the beach.Product details

This isn't the type of book I would normally read but a dear friend recommended it. I was immediately sucked in and didn't want put it down. The detail put into this book was splendid and I am eager to see what this author has in store next. To my surprise I learned the author was actually my middle school teacher. Way to go Mr. Hunter!!
Great summer read. Well written and vivid imagery. Hard to stop reading because you want to see what happens next. Loved it and waiting for what comes next from this new author.
I don't usuaaly pick this type of book but I 'm glad I did. Page turner waiting to see what happens next. Want more! Hopefully any one who gets this book will like it as much as I did.
Well done. Reads like a Tom Clancey type novel. It's hard to put down. The descriptions of scenes put you right into the room with the cast of characters. Hard to believe this is a first time novelist.
Not a good ending. The hole adventure is evolving in old times and tales. We could have learned more from those peoples and times.
The plot is fast paced and filled with historical facts that draw you in a then seize your imagination so that you cannot stop reading. The history is great but the operational knowledge of SEAL teams is superb as well. i highly recommend this book.
These was not an easy read. Dialog was stiff and contrived. Gets bogged down in all kinds of ancient history and finishes with a comic book ending. Not recommended.
