This was such a fun book. It has a great mix of action and romance.

The high points were really all the action scenes. They were so awesome, mostly cause they were always so intense what with the flames and spells shooting everywhere and people dying screaming, burning alive and turning to ash. Pretty awesome. xD

I'm a character girl and the characters in this book were phenomenal for me. Sure we have the quintessential mean girl, but you know what, it was such a joy to watch Ari always giving her the verbal smack down. Totally worth it. Actually Ari gave the verbal smack down to almost anyone who so much as looked at her wrong. She could stand up to her self and kick some serious butt while she was at it.

I loved the interactions between all the friends and specially between Ari and her brother Will. They were all loyal to the core, even when some of them were left out of the loop of the paranormal stuff.

The romance was nice and I liked Shane, he was a player at first but like the rest of them, very loyal. At first I thought there might have been a love triangle, but thank god it didn't happen! That earned a whole star from me. So hard to find YA books without love triangles now a days. I reallly hope there isn't one introduced later on cause that would just be worse.

The set up of their world and the war between the two races was still left a bit muddled but that's probably cause no one actually knows what exactly started the war anyway. But I really loved the whole idea of the flames powers and everything they could do. The names and shapes of all the different spells it kinda reminded me of video games, with the single attacks, AoEs and healing and defensive spells, loved it! xD

I had a bit of an issue with Ari being a little too closed off at times and judging her mom so harshly, but I'm glad she finally got set right towards the end, cause the whining whenever she had to go out on assignment would get a bit annoying. I just wanted her to kill her grandfather already and get over it. The self-pity wasn't too bad and she did take actions as the story progressed but it just got old at times.

I'm bumping this one up to the full 5 stars just for the awesome action scenes that would leave me biting my nails and tensed up every single time. If you like elemental magic, awesome characters, great action scenes and nice romance, you should pick this one up without question.

FeudlingsFate on Fire Book 1 eBook Wendy Knight Reviews

An ancient war between red and blue flames...
Edrens versus Carules...
Two prodigies on both sides that are destined to end the war...
An unexpected and forbidden love...

Such a thrilling read!

Loved how the enemies were falling in love, of course, there was complications but in the end love wins.

Full of magic, war, enemies, love, betrayal and surprises.

Perfect for readers of paranormal romance/fantasy.
This is an interesting story of friendship, forbidden love, and dynamic forces. I like these characters, and find the book enjoyable. The read flows pretty well.

Author Wendy Knight does a wonderful job in her character creation. Charity and Hunter are relatable and lovable. Ari and Shane are powerful forces to be reckoned with. Nev and Livi are vibrant and charismatic friends. They are great characters who add much to the story. The bad guys are truly vile.

The story is a good read, with nice use of plot devices. This is a satisfying YA book.
I really liked this story about people with magic blood. There are two different kinds of magic, one that shows up red and the other is blue. From what I can tell the red power is more violent and the blue is more about healing. There is a war and there was a prophecy about two prodigies. They would be born and the war would be over when one kills the other. The prodigies have been born and are now teenagers both having been brought up knowing one would kill the other. They both hate the war and just want it to be over. Then a strange turn of events makes everything change and I loved it!
The storyline for this book is unique and refreshing. The characters are enjoyable. Including the ones that are despicable are interesting.

I found myself wanting to know more about the majority of the characters backgrounds. A first for me since there are so many books that turn into a series or spinoffs that are generated from the original novel that I have found this ploy redundant and overused in the book world.

The story flows along at a relatively decent pace and grabs the reader's attention. It is difficult to find a place to stop reading because you want to find out what is going to happen next.

And I appreciated the time the author took on grammar, spelling and proper word usage.
Loved this book - its full of magic, mystery and romance.

Ari has been to so many different school its part of the life of the prodigy but when she starts at a new school little did she know this one was going to be a very different experience not only would she make friends, she would fall in love with Shane the most wanted boy at school. He feels the same way about her but is too afraid to tell for fear of scaring her away after Charity his seer cousin warning. There is one problem and its not the fact that they are scared to admit their feelings for one another its that they are both prodigy of rival sides of an age old war and they are destined to kill each other to bring an end to the war. It turns about falling love was only just the beginning of problems. Will their love be strong enough to survive and end the war that others maybe don't want to end and will do just about anything to keep going.

I have already started on the second book because I have to find out what is happening next
I've seen this series everywhere and now I understand why! Its outstanding. I love it when authors come up with new kinds of ways to use magic. I just adore all of the complex characters Knight created as well as an entire world full of magic, renegades, and dual sides to the magic users. The romantic relationships between Ari and Shane really kept me reading faster. I also couldn't wait to see more develop between the side characters. There's so much left to explore in this world that I simple cannot wait. My only complaint is that I wish her books were on kindle unlimited, lol! But it's so worth it to read such a talented author like her, Yay!!!
